i haven't done much customizing just yet. i do plan to enable a fair amount of fun stuff, just not there yet.
that said, if there's anything you really want quickly, let me know here!
general stuff i plan to work on:
- adding more emoji
- custom user titles (i think this is already in place) - DONE
- promotion system (this is for fun, though it might lead to special forum access)
- a NSFW-specific forum
- PWA/AMP functionality
- at least 1 mobile/responsive theme - DONE
- at least 1 dark theme - DONE

- fix logos on all themes
- add a warrant/subpoena canary to all pages. if this disappears, you will know data has been seized. i never want to have to use this, but you never know anymore.
- only leave the general section publicly viewable. collapse the writing forums into a single forum as a result.
- set up a favicon
- add automated backups and a mechanism to store them safely offsite
consider this a rolling todo list.

can we have a section on....electronics? maybe a bit general but I figured not just computers but a general "people who tinker with electronic things" (i.e. radios, raspberry pi)

IIRC, a phpBB admin can install a few UI themes and allow forum members to choose one of them from the User Control Panel. Some of them may be mobile-friendly. Some of them could even be unhinged and full of flashing GIFs, but if they're not the site-wide default you would only see them if you selected them from the themes menu. I'd like to have maybe a few theme choices.
yes, that's an option here, it's just that installing themes is kinda unwieldy for this forum system. i'll see about installing a few! i definitely want a dark mode one.

since mobile-friendly was called for, i have installed Roundo Light and RandoDarko. they are both responsive, mobile-friendly themes. the way they look on desktop is a bit radical compared to vanilla, but have a look.
i will install some others, but i figured this was a good place to start. (i also need to replace the logos.)
can we have a button to disable smilies permanently from our profile and never have to deal with them again?

do you just want the box full of them to go away, or do you never want to see any of them, ever, anywhere?
i am not sure either is doable without hacking on the code but i can maybe do something.

I just wanted it to be an option for my individual viewing experience that if I typed Colon+D, my text would not be overwritten by one of those terrifying proto-minion abominations.

i confirmed there's no setting to do this for one person. nor is there a plugin. that's crazy. maybe i will write one...
