Silver Surfer NES, Another Tim Follin Gem
In 1990, the NES game Silver Surfer hit shelves with an absolutely throbbing chiptunes soundtrack which was arguably the best part of a pretty decent game. Remember folks, this was chiptunes, tunes from a chip, courtesy of digital samples. We're not talking Roland tech here. In 1990, we were 9 years out from The Matrix and it's "Clubbed to Death" techno hit soundtrack, we were still 8 years out from the PS1's Need for Speed III with its amazing techno soundtrack. So who's to blame for Silver Surfer's ahead of its time audio capabilities? Tim Follin, the mastermind behind the Solstice NES soundtrack and several others of note.
