Back when Bitcoin was new I had like a tiny fraction of it because even then I too little computing power to do anything.

A year or two ago I bought like $60 worth and sold it for $80.

Other than that I've had no involvement in BTC, per se.

Back in 2020, however, I helped launch JokeCoin, which you can still find over here: https://github.com/clowncrew/jokecoin-DASH-old

It was a fork of PIVX and thus DASH (hence the DASH in the URL).

The whole point was that it was a joke. It wasn't meant to be worth any money. In fact, we chose PIVX and made sure to go with one of the CPU-bound algos to ensure it wouldn't be a ridiculous electricity hog, either.

Anyway, the feds heard about it and Laurelai Bailey showed up under an alias and got a number of people we didn't know involved, and they preemptively launched the coin and minted/mined a bunch of it, after which we shut it down and disavowed any involvement.

Some of you already know this story. Kind of weird to imagine that happened.

Anyway, the code for Bitcoin, which is still the heart of everything that isn't Ethereum-based, is kinda neat for the mathematical bits, but as C++ code it's pretty poorly organized and I did not at all enjoy hacking on it.

You should probably not play with cryptocurrency even though a lot of people will say you should.

I have some doge coin and shiba coin.
I bought these before melon husk stole the meme. I don't know what to do with them now.
Too bad they don't have a physical existence so you could light them on fire.
