one of my top priorities when getting a house was to have an office. the one i have now isn't ideal, in that it's really just a weird corner half-room between the foyer and the stairs, but it's a dedicated space, at least.

i will work from home forever if i can. i hate being in an office.

I picked up groceries after work on Friday. Very thrilling stuff.

I'll start a hybrid schedule in a few months, and I've worked from home before but I have extremely limited space in my current place so I will have to figure out how it's going to work. My cat loves to walk on my keyboard and attack my computer screen so we will need to have some conversations...

i've had to deal with similar cat-related issues. generally i keep my laptop lid closed when i'm not immediately using the laptop. they will still sit on it, but at least they aren't walking on the keyboard!

I feel like this always happens at my job: an issue comes up, people scratch their heads about it for a while (hours, days), I trust the responsible people to solve it... and they don't. So I spend 10 minutes looking at it in more depth and am like, "Did nobody notice this?" And no, they didn't. I tell them how to fix it. It's fixed.

Why did 8 people looking at this for 2 days not find it? Why did I find it in 10 minutes? Sigh.

I might be jumping the gun on saying it's fixed but it's been an hour without a single issue, and once this started over the past couple days it basically lasted all day. So I'm pretty confident at the moment that I fixed it.

lol I fucked up and did a maintenance activity for a customer last night, when I was supposed to do it a month from now. They fired off an email about it. It didn't seem angry, just confused? I sure hope they are confused, not angry. They could be angry. They get angry at us a lot.

They were only offline for 1 hour in a very dead period and didn't even notice until this morning, so I'm hoping nobody is mad.

I copped to it immediately. It was my mistake. This is what happens when I'm having to do the jobs of 3 people...

None of this is a bad thing. I just have a lot of little things to fix. But overall things are going well here!

I've been super swamped lately and haven't had much time to post here. But I miss it.

finally tried to fix my websites. giving up on Wordpress.
I submitted a book to the Book Bloggers Novel of the Year contest.
I'm also setting up getting a table at a local library, Reader Jubilee.
Lastly, I finished writing the next 30 chapters of Soulless Prince. so now I get to edit.

I spent most of today shaping up an old laptop.

My back fucking hurts. I don't know what I did to it. I'm in my 40s, though, so that's probably enough. Hopefully it doesn't become a regular thing.
Also, I hadn't been doing much here for the past several days. Was kinda burned out. I am getting back on it, though. I'm gonna start working through the list of bugs/feature requests soon.
