There have been 3 plane crashes killing 78 people altogether.
We had not had a fatal air crash since 2020.
We haven't had a year with this many aircraft-related fatalities since 2001 (an Airbus crash in November, not 9/11 as might be your first guess.)
the horrors persist, but so do we
